Health Policy

Today in class we discussed health policy and what requirements it takes to making a policy. So first you must define the problem, then you must formulate alternatives, then adopt the policy, implement it, and then evaluate it in order to decide whether it should be terminated or defined again. I always knew policy making was a huge process, but I never saw the in depth nature of it. Therefore, I respect it more. We also discussed the two main federal agencies that deal with food and nutrition issues which are the USDA, but also (the one I didn't know about) the Department of Health and Human Services. These are just things that as students, we rarely learn about. We never actually learn the process of making a nutrition or food related policy. In the end, this class ended up being educational but also very interesting.
